Saturday, 20th February 2010.
It was a great day for all at ETASHA, after 6 months we were celebrating the Certificate Ceremony of 8 Batches, CSWC 28, 35, & 3 and CES 5, 6, 7, 8, & 9.
About 40 trainees were being awarded certificates for the completion of their courses. The guest list included Okhla MLA Mr. Asif Mohammmed Khan and Ijjaz Ahmed , who had given their space for this function, Sajjid from Casp Delhi and many prestigious people from the community & representatives of some NGOs. This was not all – the auditorium was filled with all our trainees, their families & the ETASHA family.
There was a festive atmosphere, with a warm welcome extended to all those who were present. The Chief Guest was presented with a plant as a token of thanks by our trainees.
The most motivating and exciting part was the speech of our trainees in ENGLISH. They shared their thoughts and expectations and graciously thanked ETASHA for its courses. Let me add here that ETASHA will continue welcoming all with an open heart and doors.
One of our trainees SHAMSHAD had written a poem for ETASHA and also a few lines on “PARUL MAAM”
I shared the placement scenario which has reached the figure of 70% +. To add to all the excitement we received news that one of our trainees, PREM THAKUR – CSWC 28,who has been working as a Customer Service Assistant in Shoppers’ Stop, Great India Place for the last 6 months was promoted to an accountant with a salary raise of Rs.1000.00. Congratulations to Prem!!
Mr. Asif Mohammed Khan, our Chief Guest shared a few words with us; he talked about his struggle and how he rose in life from his very humble beginnings in a small village in UP to being an MLA representing the Zakir Nagar constituency.
I am sure it inspired others just as it inspired me. This helps us believe that nothing is impossible, as the phrase says “ I am Possible “. So lets start dreaming big, plan & take a step at a time in the right direction & we will all achieve our goals “ Delhi Door Nahi!
Our President, Dr. Meenakshi Nayar shared some words; she also extended a warm welcome & hopes for a long standing relationship with our esteemed guests.
Giving certificate was not all, from each batch a trainee was awarded a dictionary for the Best Trainee award & another was awarded a grammar book for the Best Effort,
Our alumni trainees also shared their experiences after leaving ETASHA.
As is customary, we brought the excitement to a close with refreshments and a mingle.
I came back home feeling excited, exhilarated, full of dreams & some promises for a supportive & progressive future.
